An article about North West Housing Partnership celebrating our 25th Anniversary was featured in the Chicago Tribune. It describes our celebration at Chandler’s Banquets honoring our roots, and successes over the years.
One of West Housing Partnership’s founder members, Kathy Gilmer, reflected about the goals she, and other board members developed as a core mission for the organization.
She stated, “We were concerned with the mismatch between affordable housing and good jobs, with the length of commutes for our area workers, the lack of affordable housing for seniors, and for the future of the suburbs as a vibrant place to live, work and play for all generations, young and old,” said Gilmer. “We were concerned with bricks and sticks, not just words and wishes. We wanted to make things happen, and we did.”
