North West Housing Partnership 25th AnniversaryAn article about North West Housing Partnership celebrating our 25th Anniversary was featured in the Chicago Tribune. It describes our celebration at Chandler’s Banquets honoring our roots, and successes over the years.

One of West Housing Partnership’s founder members, Kathy Gilmer, reflected about the goals she, and other board members developed as a core mission for the organization.

She stated, “We were concerned with the mismatch between affordable housing and good jobs, with the length of commutes for our area workers, the lack of affordable housing for seniors, and for the future of the suburbs as a vibrant place to live, work and play for all generations, young and old,” said Gilmer. “We were concerned with bricks and sticks, not just words and wishes. We wanted to make things happen, and we did.”

NWHP Celebrates Their 25th Anniversary

NWHP Celebrates Their 25th AnniversaryNorth West Housing Partnership (NWHP) is celebrating a milestone; 25 years assisting thousands of individuals to obtain, and improve their housing in Cook, DuPage, McHenry, Kane counties. North West Housing Partnership, a non-profit organization, offers an array of programs and educational services that aim at supporting cost-effective, quality housing for low to moderate income individuals.

The organization was founded in 1990, and initially focused on housing for senior citizens with low to moderate incomes. NWHP has since grown to become a HUD approved Housing Counseling Agency, offering home repair and handyman services, and rehabs/sells formerly foreclosed properties to revive neighborhoods which opens home ownership opportunities to individuals with low to moderate incomes.
