What Housing Programs do you Offer?
We offer the Single Family/Home Repair, Homebuyer/Rehabilitation, and FREE Homebuyer Education Workshops. North West Housing Partnership (NWHP) also acquires, rehabs and sells affordable homes to qualified buyers in the west suburbs and affordable homes to any buyers in the northwest suburbs. There is financial assistance provided for some of the homes for sale that includes up to $10,000 in down payment or closing cost assistance. The staff at NWHP will provide assistance on how to purchase houses for sale, receive the certificate and down payment assistance. Do you have low income apartments in the North West suburbs?
We have an affordable apartment building in Maywood, IL. Please contact Sonya Ivory at 773-989-8000 Ext 36 for further details.
Do you offer down payment/closing cost assistance?
For individuals participating in the Home buyer/Rehabilitation Program and the single family for sale program there is assistance. See the Programs page for more details. For other inquiries about down payment/closing cost assistance contact the Illinois Housing Development Authority at (312) 836-5200.
Do you have counseling and other classes for homebuyers?
Yes, we host monthly Home Buyer Education Workshops as well as general workshops describing our programs and services. We provide certified housing counseling so that participants can receive a certificate to receive down payment assistance. Contact Michelle Hill at 847-969-0561 Ext. 221 for more details.
Can I choose my own contractor?
No, NWHP has a select group of qualified contractors that are licensed, insured and screened to participate in our programs.
Will I be reimbursed for repairs already made?
No, NWHP does not reimburse for repairs made prior to participating in our program.
I’m considering redecorating my home, can I use the program?
The purpose of our program is to correct health and code violations as well as make necessary repairs (weatherization, electrical, bathroom, kitchen). This program is NOT for redecorating purposes.
Do you have affordable housing and for seniors over the age of 55?
Yes, NWHP has several buildings that provide affordable housing for seniors. See the Affordable Developments page for additional information.
Are you a nonprofit 501 C3 organization?
